Service Description

Specific 2 hour workshop for yoga for pain , once a week for 6 weeks is now available on every Saturday at 6- 8 pm in Gilbert Yoga from 13 th November to 18 th December. Ongoing stress is a common factor in life for a lot of people and this has been linked to multiple chronic diseases. Stress management is important not only for people who need to take medications for mood disorders. Stress management is important for everyone for optimizing health. I personally find yoga with the breathing techniques very useful in focusing, as well as relaxing the mind. It has helped a lot of my patients as well. Yoga is like the reader's manual for the body. It has techniques to warm and to cool, which would mean to activate as well as to relax the nervous system. When we can teach our body to relax in a challenging pose on the yoga mat, we can use the same technique to remain calm and centered in any challenges in day to day life as well. I have heard a lot of misconceptions and fears about yoga. Yoga is not limited to any religion. Yoga is not about getting into contorted postures. Any age and any physical capacity can do yoga. Just has to be modified to person's ability. If one can breath, they can do oga. There are specific yoga postures that can be used to help specific ailments like irritable bowel syndrome, anxiety/ diabetes . Adding breathing exercises, mudras ( hand gestures ) and sound can make these postures even more effective. Your visit will usually include a one minute breathing session with the doctor. It is surprising to many of my patients how relaxing this can feel. Easy 10-15 minute yoga/ breathing session may be discussed per patient requirement.
